Since pixel art is low resolution and more abstract, you can quickly plan how a finished piece will look from very very far away. I use the program Aseprite which you can get online for 15 dollars. When I’m coming up with sketches for character designs or thumbnailing compositions, I’ve found it easier these days to use pixel art. I’ve probably mentioned this before in previous blogs but I’ll reiterate here for consistency. When the vampire, Mara, is encountered by the mystery solvers she develops feelings for one of their members, a brainy girl named Luna, so Mara prolongs their investigation so she can spend more time with her. At the same time, vampire hunters are hired by a mysterious client to kill the vampire. In short, this is how the story will go:Ī group of curious mystery solvers head to a small suburban town to investigate vampire sightings. Now I must preface that I am no writer and I’d rather be more in a creative role or a directing role than writing it out and coming up with plots, character motivation, conflicts, and whatever other minuta. I finally sat down and created a storyline or a rough storyline that I would like this to follow. I’m probably going to reference those posts a lot and I’ll throw the necessary links in there but this is all about the art and this movie.įirst I will describe the story.
